About

My Personal Colophon

Peter Dorsi

I was born in the early morning of June 15, 1978 in the smallest state in the union. I was fortunate enough to be raised in a house that was an early adopter of technology. We were some of the first people in Rhode Island connecting to BBS's and the public library freenets. Most likely due to my early fascination with puzzles, I developed a passion for video games and programming.

It was these hobbies that molded my choices for studies at college. I attended Syracuse University mainly because it was one of the few schools that was offering 3D modeling at the time in 1995. I focused on low polygon modeling for video game development, however during the start of the dot-com boom, the opportunities at start-up web development firms were a greater lure. During the rise of the era, I learned everything I could about web development, including design, programming, databases and servers.

I am currently the Creative Manager and Sr. Designer for a large web (and some print) advertising company based in Philadelphia, PA. My specialties include project managing front end web development, designing unique user experiences for high-traffic websites and creating stylized branding for web properties. In addition, I have extensive experience with photo retouching and layouts for magazines and print.

I listen to mostly electronic music, especially Trip-Hop and Drum & Bass. I am a fan of post-modern art, graffiti and anything that falls in the cyberpunk genre. I am an avid book reader, covering all topics including sci-fi, programming, fiction and art history.

I am a huge green tea drinker and an recent wine enthusiast. I have no known allergies and have yet to taste a food I dislike, if its edible, I will eat it.

As of Sept. 29th 2006, I am married to a brown haired, steely blue-eyed girl I met in college named Shannon. I am the owner of the meanest, old, hand-me-down cat that has ever walked the face of the earth, Ray and his counterpart in crime, the ever-sweet Lola. We just recently added an amazing baby Pug to the family, named Bingly.

This site is a state of constant flux and is still under construction from 1998 (formally SinSound.com). I own and operate a tiny hosting company called Mackers Ltd. Hosting, which is serving you the piping hot PHP pages your are viewing now.
