IMDB for Comic Books

I used to be a comic nerd (amongst other nerd activities) and thought this was an intresting project. ComicBookDB.com is the fastest-growing comic database on the web. The first goal of this project is to catalog every comic, graphic novel, manga, creator, character and anything else that could possibly relate to the field of comics.

Dell De-Crapifier

“Just recently, I was helping a friend set up his brand new Inspiron 1300 and it took FOREVER for it to boot up. It’s a very dissatifiying experience to pull a brand new computer out of the box and be spammed with a bunch of trial software. After removing all of the crap, (wich took a significant amount of time) it booted much faster and performed like it should. I kept thinking it would be nice to have an automated way to remove all this stuff. Thus was born the Dell De-Crapifier script

Google will have to turn over search data to the government

“Google will have to turn over some of the data requested by the Department of Justice, according to a ruling just handed down by US District Judge James Ware. The DoJ had subpoenaed search records from a one-week period covering 1 million random web addresses in an attempt to make its case for reviving the Child Online Protection Act, which was struck down in 2004. Google fought back, leading to today’s ruling.”

Microsoft Windows Vista Editions Finalised

According to sources close to Microsoft, the company has finalised the editions that they will be releasing mid-end of October 2006.

To co-inside with the 5 year anniversary of Windows XP, Microsoft will release the following editions:

  • Windows Vista
  • Windows Vista Business
  • Windows Vista Business N
  • Windows Vista Home Basic
  • Windows Vista Home Basic N
  • Windows Vista Home Premium
  • Windows Vista Small Business
  • Windows Vista Ultimate

Microsoft is clearly adhering to the European Commissions ruling that an unbundled version of Windows (without Windows Media Player) needs to be available to all OEMs and retail outlets hence forth.

Unfortunately we’re unsure of the specifics of each version as this has not been finalised yet.

‘Family Guy’s’ Stewie hosting Web talk show

The tyrannical tyke in the Fox animated series “Family Guy” will be the virtual host of a talk show being developed strictly for the Internet later this year.

Stewie’s show will be based on familyguy.com (http://www.familyguy.com) and other News Corp.-owned Web properties catering to the young demographics that have embraced the Fox series.
