Easter is one of my favorite holidays, simply becuase it focuses on whats really important…eating. Its sort of like the expensive Thanksgiving, instead of turkey, you get to feast on mint roasted lamb. Even better, forget that pumpkin pie and enjoy the real treat of Easter, Rice Pies or Torta di Riso. I was quite surprised to learn that so many people don’t enjoy this amazing dessert on their easter holiday, so I invite you all this easter to try this dessert. As an added bonus, its makes a great breakfast served cold the next day!

Football Pool

For the 2nd time this season I have won the football pool at work, without watching a single game. Just goes to show you that research and a no team affiliations helps, lets just hope I can get into the top 3 for the overall season and see some of that real cheddar.

Betas

It must be my lucky week, I signed up for to test 3 betas programs and games and I have already heard back from 2 saying I was accepted! Microsoft let me in on the Office 2003 (11) beta 2 which I am excited about, seems quite a few have been selected and will be getting their CDs soon. MS also informed me I am 1 of 1000 people to receive the new Rise of Nations beta! Awesome! I also tried to get into the Warcraft III : Frozen Throne, so keep your fingers crossed. The Warcraft beta is open to 10,000 people so my changes are decent.

Blizzard 03

Well, I survived the “Big One” as they say. The total for KOP was 21″s and higher is other spots. It took almost 3 hours to shovel my car out, hopefully the snow will cease. Being inside gave me a chance to finish Neverwinter Nights, which was damn good for a 50 hour game. The ending lacked some of the spark that was in the start, but still worth playing.

Morimoto

Took Shannon to Morimoto for a valentines day dinner last night. I must say the Iron Chef treated us to an 8 course feast that was beyond anything we could have imagined. I will list the courses in order. First round was Toro Tartar, which was by far the best tasting dish I have ever had. It was cut so fine that it felt like velvet and melted on my tongue. Next up was Exotic Yellow Tail Sashimi Salad with Orchards, which was quite tasty. Scallops prepared in garlic and hot oil came out next that tasted fantastic. The forth course was hand made Wasabi Sorbet to cleanse the pallet. For the hot course he started with Halibut and a Black Bean Soy Reduction steamed inside a bamboo leaf, also excellent. Next up was a huge hunk of Kobe Beef which was even better than I could have imagined. A tray of Sushi came out next and for dessert we had a Yam Cake. EVERYTHING was out of this world good. I will probally never have a better meal.

Tonight I picked up William Gibsons new Novel, Pattern Recognition, in hard cover, which cost a pretty penny I found out. But the price is justified for his work. I also caught DareDevil in the theaters which was much better than I was expecting. After the crap the was Spiderman I had little hope, but I was pleasently surprised. I also got in on the X-Men 1.5 DVD deal which came with a free movie pass to see DD.

76ers

Went to go watch my man AI stomp the piss outta the Bulls tonight, thanks to a friend with some tickets to spare. Me and Shan had a blast, it was both our first time a 76ers game and my first time in the FU Center. Traffic wasn’t to bad and our seats were pretty close but behind one of the hoops.
I started up some coloring on some comic inks which hopefully I will be able to get to shortly. And today marks my 2 years at my current job. Woot!

Ahh, the great pissing contest has begun again. Thats right, a new version off 3DMark 2003 has been released to the masses. Weighing in at ~120mb this badboy will crush your system and spit out a score which you can compare with your friends, so get it and see if you can beat my score of 1117.
