XBox 360 Hacked - Full HD/Memory Card Read-Write

February 13th, 2006 Posted in Video Games |

via Gizmodo: Another day, another compromised closed-source project. The XBox 360 filesystem has been cracked wide open and you can now move saved games to and from your 360 using a piece of software called xplorer360, a SATA cable, and/or a hacked USB cable. The program allows you to browse the entire 360 and even lets you drag files from your original XBox over to the 360, which, as we know, used to be impossible. There is even a new site, 360gamesaves, where you can trade saved games with others. This doesn’t mean you can copy retail games, but it’s a nice trick and offers up some interesting potential for future byte-diddling.

PSP Universal Remote

February 2nd, 2006 Posted in Technology, Video Games |

I will declare this the 2nd best hack to come out of the PSP. First of which being emulators, of course. Massa84 over at PSP Updates has devised a way to turn the PSP into a universal remote. It does it by emulating lirc and 1800+ remotes supported by lirc. Unfortunately, this hack only with PSP firmware version 1.50. This could also provide some good hijinks in public. Good work hax0rs.PSP Universal Remote [PSP Updates]

World of Warcraft 1.10 Patch Details

January 31st, 2006 Posted in Video Games |

UPDATE: Patch Notes Here

The first of the upcoming changes is the redesign and reset of the Priest talent tree. As Paladins were reset recently, so too can priests reallocate their talent points to whatever branch or combination of that they wish. The second adjustment is the ability to upgrade your “blue” dungeon armor sets. The screenshots we’ve gathered highlight the tooltips that pop when you mouse over the gear, revealing the stat upgrades and bonuses you get from having complete armor sets. Each of these blue armor sets can be upgraded by completing a series of soloable and raid-sized party (5 people) quests. The last new feature the patch will introduce is the addition of weather effects, as shown in our exclusive screens and videos (check out the videos to see what WoW looks like when it’s snowing and raining).
