Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide

Ok, I just beat NWN: SOU and what follows is a brief review/rant which contains SPOILERS so don’t continue if you want to play this game still. I just got though another 30 hours of NWN and all I can say is what a great engine (besides the horrible party AI), the in-game 3D and menus are suberb. However the 2nd installment is almost identical in its crappy story as the first. I mean its so close I almost lost intrest halfway though. Come on BioWare the standard FedEx (go fetch and item and return it to me) quests are really terrible especially in an expansion pack. And the ending is horrible, the cut scenes reminded me of a entry level CG class. Basically the game ends with a 10 second cut scene that says “You have slain the evil enemy, however your quest is far from over….”, ya, thats it. For 30 hours of gameplay. Christ I was pissed, no story and a crappy ending. NWN has so much potential its a shame that shoddy story lines ruined it completely for me.
